About Chad

A working owner rooted in rural Goodhue County

Chad Ryan is a lifelong farmer and the owner of Ryan Manufacturing, based in Goodhue, Minnesota. Chad was born in Cannon Falls and raised in nearby Kenyon. He later moved to Florida, where he graduated high school, before returning to Minnesota, where he has lived in District 2 ever since. Chad has spent his life rooted in the rural communities of southeastern Minnesota, working the land and building a business that reflects the same values he grew up with: hard work, reliability, and putting people first.

Ryan Manufacturing was founded in 1998 out of a welding shop on the family farm. Today it’s a full metal fabrication operation running laser cutting, waterjet cutting, plasma cutting, and custom fabrication work, employing local welders and machinists in Goodhue.

Beyond the farm and the business, Chad is deeply involved in local leadership. He serves as Chairperson of the Belle Creek Township and as Chairperson of the Goodhue Fire Association, roles that reflect his belief that strong rural communities depend on people willing to step up and lead.

Chad and his wife, Janet, live in Belle Creek with their twin sons, Jed and Eli. Family is at the center of why Chad does what he does, and it’s the same reason he’s committed to making sure Goodhue County stays a place where the next generation can build a life.

For Chad, farming, business, and community service aren’t separate pursuits. They all come from the same place: a commitment to seeing rural Minnesota thrive for the next generation.
